This place always gives me joy, I can't think of a time when I don't enjoy the scenes around me so close to home. I see the same things but every time I see them they look different; the light, the time of day, and the weather, all lead to differences in the result of my photos.
I invite you to join me on bush and beach walks, and strolls around my garden with a camera hanging over my shoulder, one in my pocket and of course my phone just in case I need an instant picture! Enjoy the journey with me as together we discover the beauty of some wonderful places …………

Living my best life
Living close to the water is such a huge blessing. I often walk down to enjoy the view across the Harbour and check on the local Pelicans.
Albany at this time of year is nice and cool, sometimes a bit windy, but very pleasant for a wander in the bush, a walk along the beach, or for spending time in the garden.

After a bush fire .......
After a bush fire there's always a clean up time and you need to be aware of the new growth popping through the ground, it's good to stay as close to any track there is and that way you will not be treading where the new little plants are coming through, although the Little Pink Fairy below was growing on the side of the track and I spotted it as I was walking along.
The bush does a remarkable job of revegetating after a summer bush fire; some take longer that others, but here's some of the treasures that are showing off now.

These burned trunks already have new growth
Always a fascinating journey to go to the burn area over a period of time and see the different flora that's popping up.
Sometimes you see things that you've never seen in the area before, like the Leek Orchids and Red Beak Orchids here, they generally need a fire to flower, and you rarely see them the following year. .

Another glorious day around my place
We desperately need rain, but the sunshine has been amazing, and today was no exception. I had a lovely outing this morning with some photography friends, a wander around the garden, and checked on the Pelicans at twilight.
I used a 16mm Wide Angle lense on my Sony Nex6 camera for the morning outing and the twilight wander, and my little Olympus Tough for the flower photos. Very pleased with the results.

A wander in my Happy Place
I haven't been in Torndirrup National Park near home from some time, lots of excuses but that's what they are excuses!
This morning I spent 2hrs doing 3.7km of the tracks looking as I wandered, and I wasn't disappointed

Peaceful places
This area has been quiet and peaceful for many years. A short distance and I'm at the water, or through the side gate and I'm walking in the bush.
Peace is something I have cherished in my life for many years, I would say to my children when they were growing up: 'I'm a peacemaker, not a peacekeeper" and I continue to live this as best I can.
A life lived in the Peace of God that passes all understanding is where I want to be.
