Finding happy places in difficult times ..................

This afternoon I met a friend on the side of the road in a National Park nearby and we went for a long walk on one of the firebreaks. Then we went looking for Bunny Orchids, left our cars on the side of the road and walked some more.

When we walked we kept a good distance  ..... and found these on the side of the road

While I wait ......

As indicated by the name of my Blog I'm an older grandma and at the moment I'm waiting for Woolworths to answer my call as I've been unable to register for online shopping.

Kindness and patience are wonderful and keep me grounded in the present time, they're free, but I have to show both or I won't benefit and get the answers to my questions.

I've been waiting about 40 minutes now and it may be a while yet,  I've already put the washing out with my phone in the peg bag, the "hang in there"  music playing and every 30 seconds or so a lovely lady comes on and says "thank you for your patience ..... etc" and now I've made myself my daily Mocha, and  I'm here writing this.

I'm going to get into the garden later starting in the vegetable patch and will get things done today, I have some seedlings that I bought before the madness started and also some little Native Shrubs that I've nursed along until the weather was a bit cooler.

There's always something to do, whether it's inside or outside, and also I live so close to the bush near Torndirrup National Park, I'm going to go there for my walk and an Orchid hunt this afternoon. I haven't been going very far from home, just staying close on my side of the Princess Royal Harbour. That's why I'm waiting for Woolies, I do need to do a bit of shopping!!

And I wait and look forward to getting the instructions from a lovely Woolworths Employee!

Okay that's it, I've had a lovely young woman named Kyelaah from Woolworths helpline guide me through and send me links for what I need to do, I'll be shopping online in the next couple of days and have some fresh vegetables and fruit .... oh yes and my Yoghurt ..... hahahaha .... funny the things you miss!

I was on the phone for a total of 1 hour and 22 minutes.

Hahahaha I got an email but NO LINK in it!!

I might just go out and take a few photos and come back to the "kindness and patience" of getting registered for online shopping later.

Have a little wander with me ...........

I sat in my little protected outdoor area .... "The Hut" ... and listened to a very noisy New Holland Honeyeater having a wonderful time feeding off a Fuschia in my garden. I couldn't get a photo I was too busy watching him and then he flew away .....

I looked at the flowers and am in awe at the beauty of nature, the Fuschias are just delightful at the moment and give me great pleasure. My Cecile Brunner rose is flowering profusely and the Dahlias are absolutely delightful.

I live in such a beautiful and peaceful part of the world, we are already isolated and now more so, but this is a good thing, it forces me to think of ways to connect with the people I care about, ways to help my neighbours, and stay safe.

I would like to take you on a little walk around this beautiful place I call "Grandmums Place" I thought I'd take a walk to the edge of the harbour;  it was so beautiful out there I kept walking, and about 40 minutes in the fresh air and sunshine has refreshed the soul of this old girl!!

It was quite lovely,  please enjoy it with me

Finding Joy Amid the Crisis our World Faces

What a joy to feel the sunshine

What a joy to see the beautiful flowers blooming in my garden

What a joy to speak to my loved ones every day

What a joy to know that we are as safe as we can be

What a joy to come to this place and contact those around the world that I love

What a joy to have lived a life so full and bursting with treasures

What a joy to recall the memories of a happy and safe childhood

What a joy to have been loved and to love

In this difficult time in all our lives, remember there are treasures and memories in all of our lives and we can pull them up at any time; remind those around you of the smell of a newborn, the touch of a child's hand wrapped around your finger, the times of gathering together and the laughter you have shared, be a joy in your world

Our senses are a gift and using them is precious so smell the air around you, watch the sunrise, hear the laughter of a child, taste the food someone has lovingly prepared for you, and touch those you love with a heart bursting with joy and appreciation for all that we can do, not concentrating on what we can't.

So be a blessing in whatever way you can, be thoughtful and kind, and remember  .......... this time will pass so spend it in a way that makes treasured memories for yourself and those you love.

This is to help you find joy and laugh .....
first at me then find something about yourself to laugh at!
